Sylglas Tape was created when supplying Denso Tape to British Rail to protect cable work on the glass roofs of old Victorian stations, their staff soon found another use - it was incredibly effective at sealing glazing bars on their wooden greenhouses.

It was not long before Winn & Coales (Denso) Ltd saw the potential and spotted a gap in the emerging DIY market and created a new range of waterproofing products, as the main use of the newly produced tape was "sealing glass" the Sylglas brand name was born.
 
Sylglas soon became one of the leaders in the home garden DIY market, offering a range of solutions for the ever demanding consumer.
